More than 150 international university students studying in Adelaide experienced a taste of Australia on Wednesday the 16th August at the Australian Wine Showcase 2017, held at the National Wine Centre.
The seventh annual Australian Wine Showcase was a collaborative event, with Wine Australia, Study Adelaide, the National Wine Centre and us here at the NWETC and introduces the students to an impressive range of Australian wine and familiarise students with producers from more than 20 Australian wine regions.
The international students who attended this year’s Showcase were from 30 different countries and the free event was a chance for those students to discover some of the classic Australian wine styles as well as alternative varieties such as Fiano, Vermentino and Nebbiolo.
NWETC educators Yaelle and Jarrod poured wine at the event and shared their wisdom and industry experience with the highly curious and enthusiastic students. There was also the opportunity for students to participate in a blind wine quiz created by us at the NWETC to test their basic wine knowledge and help develop their palate.
We hope all who attended enjoyed themselves, had a taste of another aspect of the Adelaidean lifestyle and added another experience to tell their family and friends back home.
